Upprop för ökad satsning på biogas

Denna vecka lanserar vi ett nationellt biogasupprop tillsammans med en rad energibolag, fordonstillverkare och miljöteknikföretag. Upptakten var den debattartikel som vi skrev och som publicerades på Dagens Industris debattsida den 16 maj. Nu lanserar vi även en websida där den som vill kan skriva under uppropet.
Uppropet är tänkt som en tydlig och allvarlig signal till regeringen om behov av kraftfulla och långsiktiga styrmedel för biogasen - för att inte förlora tempo och internationell topplacering.
Biogas har länge varit en svensk paradgren. Tack vare politiska beslut på nationell och regional nivå har produktionen från avfall av olika slag till biogas kunnat växa och skapat en marknad för fordonsgas till bilar, bussar och lastbilar.
Men efter år av politiskt engagemang verkar nu intresset från alliansregeringen ha avstannat ordentligt. Flera viktiga styrmedel går ut nästa år och inga förslag för ökad biogasproduktion har ännu lagts fram. Med en stagnerande biogasmarknad minskar intresse bland såväl miljöteknikföretag som fordonsproducenter och tankstationsinvesterare. Nya arbetstillfällen och exportmöjligheter missas och ett steg mot en verklig omställning av fordonsflottan fördröjs.
I uppropet lyfter vi tre centrala punkter:
• Inför kraftfulla och långsiktiga styrmedel för biogasen
• Ge marknaden en tydlig politisk signal om biogasens värde i omställningen
• Fortsätt prioritera det svenska försprånget på biogasområdet
Uppropet kan man signera ända fram till början av juli då vi överlämnar detta till regeringen. Ju fler som skriver och som sprider detta upprop, desto bättre. Så hjälp oss genom att skriva under och tipsa andra om uppropet. Med förenade krafter kan vi nog få regeringen att ta initiativ.
